K.C.J & Associates Ltd., (KCJAL) is the only privately owned Electricity Distribution Company in Bangladesh registered on 19th of May 2003 where registered office at House # 11, Road # 07, Sector # 01, Uttara, Dhaka-1230, Bangladesh. Head office located in Dhaka. We have office and service facilities at three locations in Bangladesh & one location in India, all offices are fully equipped with modern communication & office equipment.

We are  the private power distribution company of Bangladesh, we distribute electricity to the consumer through the innovative & latest technology like “Prepayment Metering System”. Distribution area of our company is Khulshi Feeder H-01, Khulshi Feeder H-03, Khulshi Feeder H-04, Khulshi Feeder K-05 & Khulshi Feeder H-15 of 132/33KV Grid Substation and another Stadium Feeder H-05, Stadium Feeder H-06 Stadium 33/11KV Substation in the Southern Zone, Bangladesh Power Development Board, Chittagong, Bangladesh.

The Prepayment metering system is a very simple concept. The consumer has a new kind of meter installed in his house, which has an inbuilt disconnection device. The consumer buys electricity in advance by paying at any of the Vending offices. Once the amount is exhausted the meter automatically disconnects the supply after providing an alarm if it is not recharged before total exhaustion. If disconnected, the consumer can reconnect himself by buying electricity and recharging the meter.

Historically, the first prepayment meters were manufactured by GE in the year 1899 which were coin operated similar to the coin operated telephone booths. Technological advancement saw a new generation of Prepayment Meters using Magnetic cards and then Smart cards. The latest generation of Prepayment Meters uses Keypad technology, wherein there is a telephone like keypad on the meter for recharging.

Presently, prepayment meters have been deployed across the globe. South Africa and the UK have deployed this system in huge volumes and with considerable success. Other countries that have adopted the system include Brunei, Argentina, USA, Poland, New Zealand, Malaysia, Israel, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Kuwait, France, Bangladesh and India.  The prepayment metering project at Khulshi, Chittagong implemented jointly by PRI, UK and K.C.J & Associates Ltd., Dhaka has been deployed with the latest Keypad technology.

This system is easy to use for the normal consumer as it is very similar to the prepaid mobile system This system is flexible enough to support all kinds of tariff in Bangladesh including slab and peak-off peak tariffs. We have a team of experienced professionals consisting of high trained skilled Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Civil Engineers, Computer Engineers, Diploma Engineers, Supervisors, Foreman, Lineman and workers.
